Yes, Kawaii Is Art

At Japan House’s latest exhibit, which depicts the history and craftsmanship behind the uniquely Japanese concept of “kawaii,” art can be both cute and art. Translated literally as “cute” or “adorable,” the concept has blossomed into a movement encompassing art, technology, and fashion. The gallery collaborated with artist Sebastian Masuda to create a place and series of events that celebrated kawaii in all its forms. The show will be on display until November 3.
